Made Green in Italy certified steel castings
Committed to sustainability and the environmental impact of its products, FAI-FTC is the first Italian foundry to produce steel castings certified under the Made Green in Italy (MGI) scheme, in line with the European Union’s Green Deal guidelines.
The following components, manufactured in our facilities, have been classified as Class A—the highest rating under the MGI certification—with lifecycle impacts significantly lower than the benchmark, ranging from -84.58% to -92.70%.
MADE GREEN IN ITALY The Environmental Performance Label
The Made Green in Italy Certification is a voluntary environmental label developed by the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security to help distinguish Italian products that perform well from an environmental perspective.
Made Green in Italy certifies that a product has been thoroughly assessed for its environmental impact using a standardized, scientific method known as the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) methodology. This method evaluates the product’s entire life cycle (LCA – Life Cycle Assessment) from raw material extraction and production through to use and disposal. It includes aspects like energy consumption, emissions, water use, and waste production.
It is a prestigious recognition that combines Italian manufacturing quality with sustainable production, in line with the new ecological transition goals.
Achieving this certification is a significant milestone for us, highlighting our company’s progress toward carbon neutrality and active participation in the ecological transition.
Bureau Veritas, an independent certification body, verified the data and methodology used by the company.
